Facial Recognition Technology

Published 05/24/2019 07:16 PM   |    Updated 10/10/2023 08:30 PM
Carnival Cruise Line uses Facial Recognition Technology to make the embarkation and debarkation processes faster and more efficient for guests.

At check-in, a picture will be taken of each guest and stored for the duration of the cruise.  That picture will be used as part of the identification process as guests move on and off the ship.  The biometric data collected during the voyage will be purged following the cruise.

The process is also used to electronically gather guest photos taken throughout the voyage for easy and convenient purchase via the Carnival HUB App on board.  During completion of Online Check-in, or on board via the Carnival HUB App, guests may review their options for use of the technology, for embarkation/debarkation and photo services, including opting out.
