We look forward to welcoming you aboard. Our amazing crew is ready to make sure you have a great vacation.  We know our guests have questions about the steps we are taking to protect their health while cruising with us.  This update addresses those questions and because this is an evolving situation, we are also routinely emailing all guests 4-5 days ahead of their embarkation in case any information has changed.


From the pre-cruise communications to the enhanced screening at embarkation, you will see that your health and safety is our top priority. Our medical team works closely with public health officials to ensure we have the proper screening, monitoring and sanitation measures in place.  And we are also routinely notifying all booked guests a few days before their departure to remind them of the guidelines established by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and public health agencies that we and other cruise lines have implemented.


In addition to our usual procedures, our expanded protocols include:

  • Guests who have been to China, Hong Kong or Macau in the 14 days prior to embarkation are asked to notify us ahead of their sailing. 
  • All guests must comply with standard pre-boarding health reporting at time of check-in.
  • Additional pre-cruise and in-terminal screenings and questionnaires will be administered, including pre-boarding medical evaluations, as needed.
  • Crew members from China, Hong Kong and Macau who were scheduled to join any of our ships have been delayed from joining, and we are not booking any crew members on flights connecting through China or Hong Kong.
  • While our international guests have already been screened upon their arrival to the U.S., we have implemented secondary passport checks prior to boarding.
  • Enhanced onboard sanitation measures with non-toxic materials are in place, in addition to our rigorous daily cleaning regimen.


Ultimately, any guest or crew member who has been to China, Hong Kong or Macau in the 14 days prior to embarkation will not be allowed to sail.


Our onboard Medical Centers are staffed to handle a wide variety of staff and crew medical situations.  Our crew knows to report any symptoms of respiratory illness to the onboard medical team, and we ask our guests to do the same – all the more important during this time of year with cold and flu season upon us.  While you might see a few guests wearing masks, that is their choice, and it's important to remember that culturally, some travelers wear masks as a routine matter. If you see a crew member wearing a mask, it is directly related to a task they are performing and it is an authorized piece of safety equipment.
